This is what happens when Zach plays with the camera:
Hahaha how funny are these faces?!
Love this little tongue!
I'm not gonna lie, Father's Day snuck up on me... traveling to CA just threw me off and I was exhausted and just dropped the ball! And then I fell apart because this is Zach's first Father's Day and I wanted it to be special and awesome! And then I remembered not having the most amazing Mother's Day either (worst flight & layover with a very cranky baby which = a cranky husband) soooo we barged in on Krissy & Matt's Father's Day bash and I decided to have a re-do on Monday (don't worry, I promised to make dinner for everyone the next Sunday).
This is me enjoying the Blickenstaff family favorite - chicken broccoli casserole (or CBC as we like to call it) and if you tasted it, you would understand.
Krissy makes it the best in the whooooole world so naturally, I could not stop eating it. Like it's impossible.
Zach and Matt had fun torturing G with the dog, Zena. Her obvious disdain at first glance:
Thinking about it....
Giving it another go...
And the final verdict: complete terror. She is her mother's daughter after all!
Watching Zena go in more terror.
After all that fun, we had a delicious dessert courtesy of Matt's little sister, Renee! Chocolate "pots de creme" which is basically like chocolate creme brulee. Which to me tasted a lot like really good chocolate pudding. YUM!
Zach, enjoying himself. G, trying to understand why her dad would expose her to such cruelty as before. ;)
Obviously I stole Krissy's phone and this happened:
We look a little tired.... probably in CBC comatose.
Thanks Matt & Krissy for spending this special day with us!! You are going to make the best parents some day!
The next day I made one of Zach's favorites - chicken enchiladas! He really is such a good dad to little G. He loves her so much, dotes on her, tries so hard to make her smile & laugh all the time, tries even harder to calm her cries when she's sad. She really is so lucky!
I love FaceTiming him at work or when he's away and watching her face instantly light up when she sees him. It makes me so so happy. She loves her dad so much (not as much as me, but hey! I'm just cherishing that until she outgrows me)
And he is SUCH a softie, she will be so spoiled!
I didn't realize how much of a softie he was until we had her! He spoils me already and I can just imagine that all she'll ever have to do is ask nicely.
These two have so much fun together, I absolutely adore them to pieces.
wowwww you sound like a hot mess there hahaha Wife of the Year!!!
ReplyDeletegood thing krissy is there to smooth things over with her bloody CBC...now who can i get to make me one of those things?!?
Hahahahahaha I can make it now!!! It's NNNYUMMY!
