Blessing Day, Feb 10th 2013

This day was such a great day, suuuuuuuch a great day. Most of Zach's family was in town for his Grandpa Cal's big 80th birthday bash the night before, as well as most of my family, except one special sister, so it was almost perfect. A TON of people and a tad stressful, but pretty perfect. How could it not be with this totally perfect babe??? She's even wearing her special bracelet that NaNa made her, so so cute. And she's wrapped up in a white Bethlehem blanket that my mom got her from Jerusalem. But the best part of all - she's in the same dress that me and all my sisters and my niece were blessed in throughout the last 30 years. And it's absolutely gorgeous. So so special.

She's hangin out in cousin Brandon's arms and did so most of that day after the blessing. He was so sweet with her and kept telling me I'm going to have to kick him out of the house before he'll give her back. We just call him the baby whisperer. I'm pretty sure she loved him more than Zach for awhile. Probably because he's so pretty :)

Basically I still look chubbo in all these pictures -______- so frustrating.
We didn't hear a peep out of her the whole time during church or the blessing, she was so good, and Zach did a beautiful job. So grateful for the priesthood and a worthy husband to bless our family.
I seriously love this picture. I don't get many shots with dad in the picture (he hates taking pictures) so this is a keeper.
Cathy & Frank get this plaque for all their grand babies for special events and we love it. Except that it proved that we were here in Provo for these temporary (3-5 max) years... I would have loved to pretend that we raised Georgia in California... after all, she DID grow up in CA for the first 8 months and has TECHNICALLY spent more time there than here so far... ;) nonetheless, we love the plaque.

Out & About @ 5 Weeks

After a few weeks of being cooped up with the newborn, Zach and I decided to get out of the house and spend the afternoon in Salt Lake. So I called up by big sis and told her to meet me for lunch and then come with to the City Creek Mall! I had only ever been once, so I was excited to go again. I needed a change of scenery and I always prefer one with shops :)

I got my little hipster babe ready for the cold weather in her fleece jammies. Love her face here.
 Yummy, greasy food at Smashburger.
Soon after, my in laws came into town and to my absolute delight, she wanted to go fabric shopping for a quilt for Zach and I as a house warming gift for when we buy a home here. We went to Gardner's Village in Midvale which has the cutest (and somewhat over-priced) shops everrrrr. I never thought fabric shopping could be so fun! Here are some of the patterns I chose.
And Georgia was a good little babe most of the time... so I couldn't help but buy her this cute little zebra that plays music when you pull it's tale. love love love and she now goes by Ziggy the Zebra (thanks honey).
Georgia doesn't look so entertained here but they are becoming fast friends these days...
I just wanted to show off her new clothes that I was so excited to get... it seemed like she wore the same newborn onsies over and over and over so this was so fun to get new ones!

Sleepy Newborn

Seriously. Did I mention all she did was sleep her life away the first 2 months????? All day every day, no matter where or what position.

And I loved letting her sleep on me! I could watch her all day... she is so precious.

Georgia's Newborn Pictures

Backing up a couple months to record all the things I left out... Here are the newborn pictures that my wonderful sister in law, Steph, took for us. Georgia was just 1 week old!

I loved the winter pics to commemorate her birth during this cold weather!
 Snowball bum :)

Look at that fannie!! Love that little behind.

Makes me want to snuggle up next to her.
Of course at the very end of the shoot when I'm holding her, she decides to pee all over me...
what can ya do??

We didn't get a chance to do hands and feet, so Zach did a little picture taking of his own at 2 weeks. And they turned out great!! I was impressed...
 Gettin artsy on me
 long skinny feet

I love staring at that face.

Fun Food Weekend

This weekend we had some fun with family, friends and food!

First we went to dinner on Friday with Cousins Brandon & Julie and their little guy Walker babe. We went to our fave sushi place ever - Happy Sumo - aaaaaand paid for it later :(((((( actually I don't know what to attribute my horrendous stomach aches to anymore.... it could be anything. Anyway, after that, we weren't satisfied so we headed to a super cute little cottage home that was turned into a bakery called The Chocolate.

Love Walker's faces...
And of course this babe's face
Unfortunately, the dessert was NOT worth the money... my cupcake was completely hard, including the frosting... and I heard the same was for the cakes - it was like they were all  days old :( but maybe that's our fault since we didn't order their specialty - The Kazookie - same thing as a pazookie, but they have to call it their own I guess. I totally would have ordered one if I had realized/remembered/not had an Alzheimer's moment and opted for what my Abu-gem-eyes spotted in the glass windows... ugh, I hate dessert/food regrets. It's the worst.
After that, it was so cold that we called it quits and went home to snuggle under the covers!

On Saturday we slept in and lounged around planned a night for our friends, Emily & Jason and their little big guy Charlie Banks! I can't believe how much he's grown! And how he drags himself around in the army crawl laughing and squealing all the time! Too funny.

Sadly, I don't have pictures, but we decided instead of doing the same old dinner date, that we would cook a meal together!! So of course I took to pinterest :) and couldn't decide on any one thing, so this is what we had:
-Lemon butter & Italian herb shrimp
-Coconut shrimp & orange marmalade
-Creamy cheesy orzo pasta & peas
-Balsamic veggie salad w/ avocado, cucumber, grape tomatoes, and basil

While the boys watched the chillens, us amazing wives prepared and cooked the meal! It was a hit and I must say, I enjoyed it even more than going out to a nice dinner, waiting & salivating over it, and then eating it too fast to enjoy.
We popped in a movie in the theater room and then topped off the night with some refreshing green smoothies! I wanted the fatty lemon cake, but we opted for quick & healthy. Boooooo.

At the end of the night, I almost went to bed without snapping a quick pic of my 3 month old babe. I didn't think to celebrate it earlier that day...
And the many faces of Georgiaam cm a:
Then it was off to bed with 9am church in the morning! And this is what happens when we forget the binky:
Daddy becomes a chew toy. I refrained from asking when the last time he washed his hands was...

Such a great weekend and can't wait for tomorrow!! NaNa & Grampus are coming to Utah!!

G's 3 Month Mark

Parents have been saying it forever. And I knew I would say it too. But WHERE does the time go????

This question has obviously never been solved.

I don't understand how Georgie is already three months old! But I do know that she is the happiest, cutest, best, greatest, most amazing little thing ever and I seriously love every day with her. I awaited and awaited her arrival and now I just want to slooooow things down. Wouldn't you if you saw this face??

And this one

Even when it starts to look like this

And this

I just feel lucky because it eventually always goes back to this

Um, I WIN.

I love this girl so so much and it melts my heart how much she loves me back. I love being somebody's favorite, even if it's only for a little while... (ahem, Kell...don't feel sad. I'm sure I'll be another second best in a few short months when she realizes just how cool Dad is...sad day).

By now:

*The few hairs she has left are still reddish/orange
*Weighs about 11 pounds
*Has a pretty regular schedule of eating every 3-4 hours and sleeping from 12-7am
*Gurgles and coos in response to our baby talk
*Has a really strong kick, especially when she's throwing a fit and arching her back
*Starting to discover laughing (Zach made her laugh a couple times but it's mostly excited coughs)
*Loves YouTube videos
*Realized just how interesting her hands are, stares at them all day long
Exhibit A:
 Exhibit B:
 Exhibit C:
*Prefers sucking on her hands and fingers over the binky
*Can now clasp them together in front of her and even grasp a rattle for a short time
