Georgia @ 4 Months

My little chickie-babe is 4 months old!!!
Her check-up went well (except for a few tears of terror when strangers handle her and she thinks I've left her to die) and she is 12.25 lbs and in the 13th percentile for weight. She is 26 inches! Long and lean and super duper cute. And still white as the moon.
Unfortunately I didn't even realize that she turned 4 months until halfway through the day and we were on our flight to Atlanta! So we had some fun while being squished together and enduring a heat stroke... even with the air going, we were sweating!
Obviously she is super excited to be my new selfie partner in crime... ahhh Cait, where are you???
She is so much fun these days and I love all the faces and sounds she makes every day!
I think it's safe to say, I am the red-delicious apple of her eye. And I love getting a googley-eyed smile with just one look.

By Now:

*She is talking and babbling and calling and cooing more and more every day
*She's laughing more and more but rarely more than twice at the same gimick, the little stink
*This is partly because she gets hiccups every. single. time. she laughs so she never gets more than a couple giggles in before she's choking on hiccups again - every time without fail
*She hasn't rolled over yet (which I'm kind of thankful for, it's just much easier and less worry) but she has learned to pull her legs up and grab her toes to play with them
*She can pick up and play with her rattle by herself
*She can kick and maneuver herself around - the other day I went to get her from her nap and she was turned completely around in her cradle with her feet up where her head normally is!
*She screams bloody murder if she's with a stranger and I've left the room (strangers including with or without Zach)
*Her little bum has grown into size 2 diapers!
*She is sucking her thumb more (along with other fingers too) which I can't decide whether to stop it or not.. but it's not that consistent so I just let her be
*I am reading Dr. Weissbluth's book - Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child and it is amazing and completely eye-opening (bummed I didn't read it earlier, she could have used it weeks ago) and we are down to a great sleep schedule - she is so much happier
*Finally fitting into her 3 month clothes which I am soooo excited for because they are to die for!
*She is liking bath time more these days and cries less when I put lotion on her after - I love my little snuggly-wuggly!

Love her personality these days:
Check me out! Rawr.
 Who, me?!?
 Oh heyyyy
 Playing coy...
Does this shirt make me look fat?
Ok, call me :)

xoxo, Georgia

Bye Bye Little Sis

6 months with this one went by way too fast :((((((
she has finished her freshman year at BYU, moved home for the spring, and is planning on serving a mission so no more late night runs to the creamery or catching up on all our shows... who am I going to watch Pretty Little Liars for now?? She is the only reason I watch it... and who am I going to give back-breaking 2 hour long innovative manicures to now??? Obviously she didn't leave without a goodbye mani:
Weird?? Eh. She wanted it...

Who am I going to take ridiculous selfies with?????
I guess it's just me and Georgia now...
Seriously going to miss her so so so much. And combined with my best friend graduating from nursing school and moving back home to CA, I am feeling uber lonely. MA-MA!! haha
Love you baby sis, kees kees.

Ode To A Sleepy Husband

Last night my best little buddy in crime and I were snickering and snapping pictures of helpless people as we often do and that night, Zach happened to be our choice of prey:
The reason we love this picture sooooo much is because my husband is one of the sleepiest people I know and if set at any angle below 90 degrees, he can and most likely will fall asleep. Doesn't matter if it's 8pm or 3pm or 10am or any am/pm. We also love this picture because he has a deep obsession with all things soft and feels a need to smother himself with them. This includes pillows, blankets, towels, velvet jackets, etc... He sleeps with a minimum of 6 pillows at night but prefers around 8. If put in a situation where there are limited pillows, he will try to steal the only one I have. Punk.
Here are just a few of the pictures I have snapped over the years of just such falling asleep at any time, anywhere, and with all sorts of soft things:
I turned my back for 2 seconds and his arm snuggled up inside my velvet hoodie.
Here he is in bed with his Brookstone robe.
My favorite - inside the opening of his pillow case #anywayhecangetit
One of our favorite soft blankets. That is too small to share....
And underneath the hood of my jacket which is lined with some kind of soft fuzzy material.
I must say, the man has a gift. I would give anything to fall asleep that easily... I have wasted way too many nights tossing and turning and have resorted to taking melatonin at night...
But while we are still on the topic of funny pictures of Zach, I couldn't pass up the chance to post these babies:
Just look at that determination. Sexy if you ask me.
And let's not forget the day at the Marriott with Nikki and Mary Stout... some of our favorite peeps. Yes, those are his orange faux-bans. fake. ray bans. faux-bans. orange. sighhhhh... better than white 90's sunglasses from the 99 cent store, but not much....
And he always tries to find a way to incorporate his buttcrack into the picture. Successful.
And the winner of them all:
This is Zach's designated "gay face" that he makes 50 times a day mostly because he knows I hate it. But it IS hilarious. And WHAT is with his legs looking like toothpicks next to the rest of his body?!?! He looks crippled.... or malnutritioned from the waste down. And just for the record, that is NOT his white midriff hanging out, that is actually part of the harness showing. just clarifying. the rest is embarrassingly all him hahaha.
Have I also mentioned that I like to take advantage of people after surgery and/or when they are not totally conscious?
Exhibit B:
 And C:
It's a good thing I married him when he looked like this:
And he keeps getting more handsome with each new surgery haha
And he can grow an awesome beard
And he's a pretty good golfer...
And a suuuuuper cute little boy... can you see some of Georgia in this face?
I was 18 and falling for this face:
And we have so so so much fun together. Love my main squeeze.

It's Go Time

I admit, I have been dragging my feet around and making a ball fest out of every little change that has come our way since making the move to Utah... but in my defense, there has been LOTS of change!! Just to name a few:
-Moving to bloody Utah
-While I was pregnant and miserable
-Living in the SNOW. again.
-Parents have been called to serve a mission in TAIWAN
-Little sis is putting her papers in to go on a mission this summer
-Giving birth to our first daughter. In Utah. As it was snowing.

Anywayyyy.. here is one silver lining that really dulls the ache:
We get to call this Our Home and I'm totally stoked about it :) It is the 3rd home we put an offer on and I'm so glad we held out for it! It was just meant to be and things are really coming together. Our realtor sent it over saying "This is it! This is the house." and he was right. We hurried on over and put an offer in the night of. Lucky for us, our offer was accepted and we close on May 13th. So so excited.

Bonus: it's on the right side of the freeway, just where Zach had his sights set. Well, ok, I guess Sandy was ideal, but Draper is good too.

We are pretty excited about having a backyard, and not just a 15 square foot slab of concrete behind a 2 bedroom condo that would have cost us way more than this awesome house.
Ahhhh California... why do you have to make it so hard for us to live there?? It's snowing here right now... in April.

Bonus 2: It's all redone so we'll have hardly any changes! What a relief. And it already has my dream kitchen!! I think I might live in it. Just stick the mattress right there on those hardwood floors :)
Can't wait to finally decorate Georgie's room!! So excited to paint and set up her crib and get rid of the make-shift stuff we've been using while all her things are in storage... and I love that it already has wainscoting! Score.
I am starting to feel really good about this new adventure Zach and I have jumped into. With so many changes about us, it feels good to buy a piece of land to call our own and put our roots down for awhile. It will feel good to be grounded. If nothing else, how great of a distraction is furniture and decor shopping???
Did I mention it's still snowing here?????  -________-
Enough. It's time to embrace the change!!!

Conference Weekend

Last weekend my Mom & Dad and Kelly & Finley came to UT! They had tickets to General Conference so yay for me, Kelly & Fin came and stayed with me. But first we met up at the City Creek  mall on a gorgeous Friday, sun out and blue skies! I had been wanting to try the Blue Lemon cafe and lucky for me, Kell read my mind so that's where we met up. It was amazing. I am drooling now recalling the balsamic chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries.... thankfully, my mom loooooves her grandbaby girls (sorry Cman, you weren't here. And you just happen to be a boy...) so I got to scarf down my lunch quickly while she gave up her lap for a bit.
And I'm soooo glad Finley didn't shun Baby G... as she does 99% of females. And Zach.
She always wanted to pat her head. Which turned into kisses.
And then nose picking. No doubt Jeremy's doing ;)
I love these two.
 They will surely be cousinBFF's.
 Friendy's for life.
Hate that they live so far away... but thankful we get to see eachother fairly often :)

Saturday morning was quiet as we watched the first session in front of the fire.
G was really into it. She was in awe of the prophets.
After stuffing our faces all day long and taking the babes to Zupas for a girl's only dinner, we didn't stop there. My hub was nice enough to watch Georgia AND Fin (skeptical) so we could get shakes at Sammy's in Provo.
I forgot how DELISH their banana cream pie shake is. They literally throw a slice of pie into the best soft serve ice cream everrrr.
Obvs we have to take fabulous selfie pics at a place like Sammy's.

We love Fattie Foods. We don't count calories.
Sure love these girlies. Wish Kris could have been there.

Just a side note: I am soaking up all the time I can get with Baby Sis on the right... she dropped the bomb that along with my parents who were called to Serve as mission presidents in Taiwan this summer, she also wants to put her papers in and leave at the same time! It just hit me over the head. I super duper love my family and wish I could be more like them. I am in awe of their devotion to the Lord/gospel and feel about as big as a roach in comparison. It was definitely an eye opener for me and I decided that I need to stop being so lazy and living in my own little world and think a little bigger. I seriously love my parents and all my siblings who are far greater than I and such an example to me.

After a few tears and a few prayers, I decided to stop whining about how everyone is leaving and it's too much change and decided to see how amazing these opportunities are and how proud I am to be a part of this family. And then I started laughing. I remembered one of my favorite memories I have of our little Booch. Ever since Kell got me my own wax pot (like 5 years ago), Cait had been bugging me relentlessly to "fix" her eyebrows (there's nothing to fix. Ever. They are fine). So I finally gave in and started ripping away. 3/4 of the way through, I fell apart when I realized that I had taken all her skin along with it!! I forgot that she was on Retin-A cream and her skin was UBER sensitive. I seriously freaked out thinking I had ruined her and in the prime of her high school years!! Embarrassing. But she had a good laugh and begged me to finish her off so at least it even, and then walked around with medicated scabby eyebrows for a good week. Thank goodness for Neosporin. One of my fave memories with her :) love her to death. I am soooo going to miss her abundance of amazing selfies when she has to give up her beloved iPhone....which she said I could have and then promised it to Kell. Witch.

Back to conference weekend. Everyone came to Provo to watch the afternoon session of conference with us and have dinner, homemade strawberry pie made with the most amazing CA strawberries from THE stand in Camarillo, and a special visit from Kimberly Jo Smith, a great great granddaughter of Joseph Smith. Her story is amazing and just talking with her was a great experience and fueled me to go out and buy some great biographies on Joseph and Emma - something I had been meaning to do for years but just never got around to it.

Then it was off to bed with a clean and naked babe:
And Monday morning, we got ready to take them to Sandy for lunch to see them off to the airport.
Honk if you are the cutest thing ever!
Love this happy baby.
And I'm not the only one.
 cousinBFF's
Love that face. Always too fast to be caught on camera. Blurry little girl.
Goodbye hugs for NaNa. She really only ever smiles like this for me and Kell.
I don't think she knows the diff...
Getting a little excited to see them go...

Back at home the next day and back to a normal schedule:

And it's time to plan our next few adventures... we are off to Georgia and Cancun the next two weeks!! YAY!
