Now that Georgia is up and on the move we try to come up with some fun ideas for the weekends! Too bad we live in UTAH and it's cold outside and you have to reeeeeally rack your brain for ideas or you'll end up at the library. Or the mall.
Anyway, we started Friday off with a quick and painless crazy baby-chasing run to the fabric store and then hit up Costco with one of our favorite baby friends, Charlie, and her momma, Bailey, from our ward! Charlie is just a couple months younger than Georgia and they get along great.

After we went home, we soaked up a few minutes of sunshine in the front yard and down our street:

So this Friday night, we ended up at the mall. Yippee. But there was a carousel that I wanted to take Georgia on so it was fine. I picked the prettiest one - and we had the entire ride to ourselves so that was easy, apparently everyone else has better weekend ideas than us - and strapped her in!
I seriously got a little dizzy frazzled when I realized how close to the edge I was. Like one step back and I was bye bye. But I love her face :)
We had some gross mall food (remember when the mall used to give you ruby eyes with all the amazing options and treats to choose from?! Those days are long gone...) and a chocolate DQ shake and called it a night!
Saturday we headed to Salt Lake since apparently that's where all the REAL fun is. And surprise surprise, none of it is free. We took Georgia to the Discovery Center at the gateway mall where they had room after room of fun play areas and tons of kids!
We showed her the cars:

And even the cute little home with a play kitchen and vacuum and dolls, but she ended up HERE for the most of it... obsessed with the bloody water!!! Of course.
This girl would choose the mermaid life and live in the sea if she could. I just rolled up her sleeves and sat back while she ran around from spot to spot figuring out which one gave her the most access to the most water. And screaming at other kids who tried to take "her" balls out of the water and actually make use of them in the whole play system. It was nice to let her run around and have so much fun exploring with so many new toys. Can't wait till the summer when there will be so much more to do!

Sunday mornings are pretty lazy since we have 1:00 church so Zach took Georgia outside and this is what happens when I ask him to dress her warm:
She ends up looking homeless but in her STUNNING p-coat hahaha!
Crazy hair, all kinds of pink, blue uggs boots, and a minky zebra p-coat. Classy! I really think if he dressed her to actually go out in public, the result wouldn't be too far off from that.
So I dress her on Sundays to keep up normal appearances:

This girl has some OCD-ish quirks to her :) if toys come in sets, she has to be holding ALL the pieces at once. There were 10 of those gold fabric "coins" and she had to have all ten in her hands at once or she would grunt and whine and desperately grab at them, unsuccessful without our help. But when she DOES get them all, she runs around grinning and laughing to herself that she's soooo clever! Cracks us up.
It gets tough when the toys are bigger and there are 3 or 4 of them and she insists on holding them all. It's like watching a baby try to juggle. Pick two up. Put one down to get another. Put that one back down to get the first. Over and over. And then there's the stickers....
Jake gave me these Lisa Frank stickers that are the essence of my childhood and I don't know who loves to play with them more during church - Georgia or Zach.
He decorates her whole face and arms with them and then laughs when she parades around with her arms stiff and outstretched to show everyone.

Sundays are always a gamble for us... sometimes she's great and other times she's in desperate need of nap. But we make it work :)
Often times I wait so long to blog our adventures that I forget lots of fun things we get to do with friends and end up just blogging about what I have pictures of - mostly Georgia. I blame the monster boy inside of me that is eating up all of my brain cells. He better be smart cause I seriously have air blowing around inside my head!
Some fun things we've been able to do this winter:
*Pizza night with our good friends Emily, Jason, and baby Charlie! They are really the only friends we ever get together with and just make food. This time they made us delicious bbq chicken and garlic alfredo pizza from scratch! It was sooo good. They even spoiled us with the leftovers of their banana ice cream pie - a recipe a gave Emily after Zach's birthday and it was just as yummy! Georgia was such a sweetheart and let us stay up talking and laughing till 10:00!! Such a gem.
*Take Georgia to the library on snowy days. They have huge windows and benches along it and a few fun centers for little kids and of course lots and lots of books! She ran around trying to steal crayons from the older kids and just running through the rows and rows of books. We even let her bang on the kids key board before we saw that babies are not allowed to play at the computers. Oooooops.
*Krissy and I planned a double date night for some Happy Sumo! And ended up at DIFFERENT RESTAURANTS. I sent her the address. She didn't look at it. We ended up in Cottonwood Heights and she ended up in Salt Lake. Then she is one of those cheesy newly wed type lamo couples who "puts there phone away during a date with her hubby" so she didn't see any of the 5 texts or calls where I asked if she would like to meet up after dinner. She desperately tried to entice us to check out her new apartment but alas, we had ended up at the NICKEL ARCADE and paid our $10 to get in so we were GOING to spend those nickels in entertainment!! Next time answer your phone ya ninny! Maybe someday the romance will wear off for those two like the rest of us normal married folk ;) just kidding.
*Zach got us tickets to see the comedian, Brian Regan, at the Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake! Woohoo for a fun date night!! I got to pick up the babysitter at the insanely early hour of 5:15pm!! We met Zach's co-worker, former roommate, and long time friend Matt Sant and his family for dinner beforehand at Pizzeria Limone. They are a family of all girls and one boy, just like ours so of course they were late and very indecisive of where to eat. Took forever! Zach just about went bald in the process and I laughed at the remembrance of my entire pre-marriage family outings that were all too similar. I can honestly say that thanks to Zach and his very punctual and impatient/no-nonsense (in the kindest way) dad Frank, I am pretty dang punctual and will be where I say I am!! I'll also text you back right away! Unless my phone is on complete silent. Anyway, back to Brian Regan - we paid to park in a somwhat nearby lot but Zach made his very plump and very full wife practically run the entire way to the arena for fear of missing the WARM UP ACT! People. I almost died. But then again, Zach is usually walking at a faster pace than I and always gawks at how slow us Blickenstaffs are. When we finally got to our seats, my feet were swollen and my heart and head were pounding!! I couldn't catch my breath and had to close my eyes and rest on Zach through the whole first act, which by the way was not that funny. But then Brian came out and we both came alive and laughed much. He is one funny guy!!! He covered a variety of stuff including being an awkward guy at parties, having children, staking out his place in line at Disneyland, and being the dumb kid in school. A great night! Many thanks to Zach for buying tickets and planning the evening. Such a treat. Even if he did try to shuffle me back to the car. But my feet were seriously swollen so I took my time and he finally relented :). It's always nice to have a night away and come back to a quiet home and a sleeping baby!
