Crafting & Building 101 - Beg & Then Praise

These last couple weeks before baby comes, I have been busy busy crafting away. I made these little silky blankies for me and my sister: (I couldn't get those cute little piggies out of the dang picture)
It doesn't compare to my sister's work, but I am not willing to go through so much pain for a dang silky blanket! I cheated and sewed it an easier/uglier way. But made with love!! Just not blood.
After all the sewing was done, I packed my sewing supplies into a nearby closet... after this boy comes, I have a feeling I won't have any spare time to sew for awhile :(
I ventured to cook some steaks restaurant style (according to Pinterest)
And even whipped up some dessert!
Ok so this was mostly store bought (who has time to make Angel Food cake when it's ready and available at any grocery store??) but I did cut the strawberries and puree some with sugar for a strawberry sauce!

I decided I didn't want all our frames and decor sitting in our basement unused anymore. So I pulled out my handy dandy spray paint! I love when I have everything on hand! I bought this shelf at my first Swiss Days when Zach and I were first married!!
So I gave it a little make over :) I painted it mint and pulled out the pegs and replaced them with hobby lobby knobs. I finally got to display my wedding picture that's been sitting in a box all these years! I love the way it turned out, it brightens up my home is such a fun way.
Then it was time to get to work on the baby room. Zach put it off as long as I let him, but he finally gave in to me and started this plank wall project that I'd also seen on Pinterest. The Pinterest version:
Zach was super cool and pretty much headed it all on his own, making most of the decisions. Which isn't really like him since he doesn't really care much about design. And by super cool, I mean working in his man robe:
That robe has so many uses! Who knew it would be such a treasure when I bought it...
Ok SOMETIMES he looks normal when he's working:
We bought the wood at Home Depot and began painting. Even though I said about 4 times that he should probably sand the wood first. But Zach loves to back track, so we painted 8 boards and then he got to sanding them all :)
We spent a few late nights painting in the garage together and it was fun! I wish I had someone to craft with me all day long!!!! But it was about all he could handle before he needed his "Zach time" :
Zach needs a very balanced schedule of work and rest time. Can you believe he's under all those blankets haha!
He is so funny, he kept asking me as we were going along if I liked it, am I SURE I like it?? What if he puts it all up and I don't like it??
But he did SUCH a good job!!! (Maybe it's the magic of the yellow shorts)
I absolutely love the way it turned out.
He did such a good job! And guess what?? Praise will get you farther in life! He actually said after all was said and done "What's next?! What else can I build you!" haha.
My work wasn't quite done.  I saw this print on Pinterest that was was $20 to order and the lazy 39 weeks in me asked if I could just buy it pleeeeeease.
But Zach pushed me to be my crafty self, so I got to the computer and came up with this:
Not too shabby for FREE 99!! Then I silently begged baby boy to please make his appearance soon as my body was tired and aching from carrying him so long.
Oh ps. this is my new favorite and amazing snack:
If you get a chance, try it, or be like me and stock up on 4 or 5 because they were GONE within days :( and now I'm sad. It says "all natural" and "probiotic" but don't be fooled... it is for fatties :)

Easter 2014

We started off with Saturday morning with fresh chocolate chip banana buttermilk pancakes! Mmmm I usually do original but I had all the ingredients so I decided to try it out. Loved it!
Then after a quick trip to Home Depot for Saturday crafting, we went over to our friend Heidi's house for an Easter Egg Hunt with the rest of our playdate group! Georgie's first.
Here's all the kids... staring at the one kid throwing a fit...his brother is currently in time out for a separate meltdown haha! Too funny.
Finally it was go time!!! And we found ourselves here:
With Daddy's help, she started to pick up some eggs, but then apparently just wanted to take all of the eggs out of the basket and throw them on the floor. Which is something she loves to do at home... take everything and throw it out of its place saying "uh-ohhhh" when it hits the floor.
Then she found a cadbury cream filled egg - and wouldn't let it go, so that was the end of her hunting.
She loves to carry baskets around (or anything she can tote on her arm really) so it was a great day! And I got to hang with my friends while Zach chased her around. What could be better?
Easter Sunday:
I believe I wore that outfit last Easter, but my outfits are extremely limited these days!!
Then it was time to go to Grandpa Cal & Grandma Judy's that afternoon for another egg hunt and dinner.
Cathy really wanted pictures of Georgia with Gramps but this was as close as she would get to him without throwing it down!
Gramps is the only grandparent left on the Winger side so we try to make it to every occasion he's at.
egg hunting:
She actually had this one down like a pro!
Carrying her own bucket and all.
 I love her so much!
We spent the rest of the afternoon hanging out on the lawn in the sun with Zach's cousins and their babes. It was so relaxing and fun. Georgia was followed around by two of her cousins, Junie & Piper while they played together, I love little girls and watching them play with my own! Zach tells me every time that he wants a little Junie next. He loves that name haha. I'm not quite on board...
A very happy Easter indeed for us. So glad we have this day to celebrate Christ and his resurrection. This video was circling the internet and I finally got around to watching it on Easter Sunday. It was so different than I expected and touched me so much. It gives so much hope for everyone, I absolutely love it.

Les Miserables @ Hale Center Theater

Sometimes I get a break and my sister goes to a Les Mis play and then insists that we go again and I pawn my child off and take advantage so I can have a night off of being a very tired pregnant momma.
And then I get pictures like this:
That let me know that my child is surely becoming a brat as expected. Not wanting to share what clearly does not even belong to her...yes, she is shoving her friend out of her own baby chair.
But then she found some sunnies and all was right in the world again. Well, her world anyway. Charli doesn't look too impressed.
Love these girls. Hope they are friendies for a long time! (Did I really just say that? Cause I'm pretty sure I'd like to high tail it to CA too if given the chance...)
The incredibly small stage that turned out to be awesome because you basically have front row seating wherever you are:
And a couple of excited sister selfies:
 Man I look fat...
Krissy was still ecstatic even after being forced to sit next to the 300+ lb lady!! I'm pretty sure she didn't get an arm rest or half of her seat....and I wasn't about to sit next to a water heater at 37 weeks along. Thanks for taking one for the team sis.
The play was awesome! Even when my sister showed up 30 seconds AFTER the start time! Hahaha typical. You know what else is typical? Really really really bad costume wigs. The women in the play had pretty bad hair... but their singing was right on. I was so so pleasantly surprised and it had my emotions rolling in the first 30 minutes. I started thinking, what am I doing seeing this play in the last trimester of being pregnant! I'm already so emotional... but by the end of the play, my emotions were clouded over by the feeling of wanting to die so it was ok. Sitting for that long in a teeny tiny seat is not fun - especially for my feet which I'm pretty sure grew a shoe size by the end of the night.
But the night did not end there! We ate at Chili's next door and had some much needed sister time (which Matt tried to infringe upon and I had to threaten to draw blood...actually it was more Krissy and her attachment to her Matty Pants that she can't go 5 hours without wooing him...admirable I guess. Keep the flame going sis!) and laughed and talked and dissected Frozen and then Disney movies in general... when does a conversation with Krissy ever not include Disney movies?? Haha just kidding :) it was a great night and I'm so glad I got to go and have a fun night off!
I was NOT surprised to see this face the next morning:
Not surprised in the least, but I could not stop laughing. Clearly my favorite baby girl had a rough night without her momma!!! Zach explained that she wouldn't eat, cried for 30 minutes at bedtime, and then woke up early with this insane hairdo!! I love it so so much. Kissed her all over! I'll try not to subject you to Daddy's care too often love ;)

Baby Shower Lunch

My sweet ward/playdate group friends got together and threw me a baby shower lunch at the park!
These girls are so much fun... never a dull moment and always so quick to help a girl out. I was spoiled with food, Target gift cards (my favorite), and plenty of sunshine - it was such a nice day out!!
Heidi is the mom of all moms! She's seriously the best momma ever. Here she is teaching my baby how to blow bubbles:
Man, good thing we socialize with other people or Georgia would be way behind in learning... haha
A number of times, Heidi has saved my sanity this pregnancy and I am forever grateful for it! Thanks for putting together this fun day!

Filling The Days

Post vacation and pre baby #2 times looked like this around here:
There are lots of different ways to watch the iPad.
Fortress style.
Lots of OB check ups - my OB was the sweetest person ever. I love her!
Visiting Auntie Krissy at work to save our sanity.
And always taking over her very important job.
Georgia when she answers the phone: "OWO??"
Lots of random park days. The weather in Utah is so bipolar. Always switching between hot and cold on a daily basis.
 Lots of cuddling time.
And always with a finger in someones mouth.
And a certain robe.
Trips to the mall with Auntie Krissy.
Maybe she should have picked a shorter horse... hahaha just kidding :)
Trips to Ikea just for good old free fun.
Daddy happened to be away on a business trip - the last one before baby comes - and I snuck into G's room to see about the temperature now that it's getting warmer here. And couldn't help but stop and watch my sweet baby sleeping... soon I'll have too!
Hiding from mom:
Discovering the hill on the side of our house and oh what fun it is to run down it!
Check ups for Georgia:
Still 95 percentile for height and 65% for weight. She's doing great! But man, shots are NOT fun. Breaks my heart to see her so scared after but I do love the cuddles warranted.
Finding patches of sunlight when it's too cold outside. Little explorer still brings us her shoes about 584 times a day and stands by our back door... hurry up summer!
More running around the neighborhood:
The days are long and we always can't wait until Daddy comes home to save us from boring old Momma! I am constantly trying to fast forward the last few days of pregnancy while wishing things didn't have to change at the same time...Soaking up my days with Georgie Girl!
