Our first stop was in Ketchikan, Alaska. Surprisingly, it was sunny & warm! Way too hot for jackets. The town was absolutely beautiful, all the homes and shops are so colorful.
Even their fire department is the cutest building ever! Love those red doors.
And old-fashioned teal street lamps?! My kinda town :)
Supposedly this is the most photographed street in the US? Or so they told us... it is pretty cool all on stilts and colorful with all kinds of secret passage ways from old boot-legger times.
This kid... he is the Jacob of my family when it comes to posing for pictures ;)
Then is was time a good old lumber jack show!
Cheesy lines and acting...
Good (and somewhat staged?) competition
Next was the bus tour of the town with our TRUSTY tour guide. I'm pretty sure this guy is a drug addict...every word was slurred, his teeth had practically rotted away, and he's toothpick skinny!! But he was pretty good and knowledgeable (and funny to watch).
We had some trouble starting up the bus a couple times and a bee incident (you know me & bees...it landed on Jordan's neck at one point! I was freaking out inside but kept it contained) and I don't think the bus had AC but other than that, the bus tour was fine. Saw lots of totem poles, lots and lots of salmon, beautiful landscape, a few bald eagles, a waterfall, but no bears this time.
This kid cracks me up...Mr. GQ
Brothers for life...ride or die, right Jordy??? Hahaha
Uncle Aaron & Aunt Kristen were her favorite!
Ok, so they are my favorite too ;)
Kristen had the magic shoulder this vacation... somehow always got G to fall asleep in her arms, no binky or anything! Finally someone to challenge Uncle Matt's "centered chi" hahaha Kristen is one of the most zen people I know! When she takes her pills ;) haha just kidding. She is one amazing Auntie and I love her to pieces. Miss her everyday!
Nana & Papa
After the bus tour, we were dropped off back in town and got to explore and enjoy the rest of the afternoon. It was so hot, we were sweating by the time we got back to the boat! So unusual for Alaska!
Ketchikan was so beautiful, I couldn't wait to see the rest...
